An Introduction to The School
Welcome to GMHS Manimajra
Established in 1869, this school is the oldest premier academic institution of Manimajra, Chandigarh. Housed in three different complexes, the school is situated near the Main Bus Stand of Manimajra on Old Ropar Road. The School commenced in 1869 as Distt. Board School. In the year 1945, it was taken over by Village Panchayat. The School was taken over by Govt. in 1953.
It serves education in three mediums i.e. English /Hindi / Punjabi and is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. Instruction up to Class 10 is being provided according to the Continuous Comprehensive Education Pattern. This school is running in two shifts; Morning and Evening. Morning Shift is for Upper Primary Classes i.e. VI- X and Pre- Primary Classes and Evening shift is for Primary Classes i.e I- V. The school has extensive playground and Basket Ball Court along with well equipped Science Laboratory and a well-stocked Library. Keeping abreast in the age of Information and Technology, our staff is computer savvy and the students are also receiving computer education.
Maintaining regular interaction between parents and teachers through the School Management Committee, the school is continuously striving to reach new heights of glory every day.
